I specialise in all areas of commercial, insurance and family litigation. After qualifying with a Law Degree with Honours in 1997, I practised as a commercial litigator in London, Sydney and New Zealand in a variety of magic circle, national, and boutique litigation law firms. In 2011, I joined the independent bar and became a barrister sole.
I have experience in a wide variety of cases including contract and commercial disputes, insurance litigation, property and lease disputes, Companies Act, director and shareholder disputes, insolvency matters, professional negligence, trust and estate matters, defamation, civil fraud and relationship property litigation.
I have appeared as sole counsel at all levels of New Zealand courts up to the Court of Appeal, and regularly appear in the High Court, District Court, arbitrations, mediations, and judicial settlement conferences. I have also been appointed amicus curiae by the High Court.
